Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Roden Labs for using Crowdroll. By creating an account, joining a roll, or posting anything, you accept them.

What the service is

Crowdroll lets a group take photos on a shared roll at an event and see them together once the roll develops. Someone creates the event and is its host; everyone else joins with a code.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 to use Crowdroll. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your Apple ID secure. Do not share your host code with people you do not want administering your event — it is a credential, not a label.

Content rules

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour on Crowdroll. Do not post anything that is unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, violent, or that depicts or exploits a child. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post. Do not photograph people who have made clear they do not want to be photographed.

Every photo, voice note and video message can be reported from inside the app, and you can block another guest so their content disappears from your view immediately. We review reports within 24 hours and remove anything that breaks these rules. Accounts that post such content are removed, and we do not require a pattern before acting.

Hosts can remove a guest and their content from their own event at any time, for any reason.

Who owns what

Your photos are yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you post.

You give us the limited permission we need to actually run the service: to store your content, and to show it to the other people on the same roll. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your photos to promote Crowdroll and we will not, unless you specifically agree in writing at the time.

You also give the other people on your roll the ability to see and download the photos you put on it. Once someone has downloaded a photo, deleting it here does not reach the copy on their phone. Post accordingly.

The app, the name and the design are ours.

Paid events

A new event is free and includes a small number of guests. Larger guest limits are one-off purchases made through Apple, for that event.

Payment, refunds and any dispute about a charge are handled by Apple under the terms of the App Store, not by us. If you want a refund, request it from Apple. If Apple refunds a purchase, the corresponding upgrade is removed from the event.

Prices can change. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.

Things that are on you

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot bear to lose. Crowdroll is a way to share photos at an event, not a backup service, and you should not treat it as the only place a photograph exists.

If you are hosting, it is your job to tell your guests that a shared camera is running and to respect anyone who would rather not be in the photos.

Ending it

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deleting a host account also deletes the events it created, including other people’s photos on them.

We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. Where we can do so safely we will tell you why.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we do not promise that a photo will upload from a venue with no signal.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost content. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights and nothing in these terms takes them away.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Crowdroll after that means you accept the new version.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Roden Labs is established, and if you are a consumer you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Crowdroll. Apple is a third-party beneficiary and may enforce these terms against you.
