The disposable camera app for birthdays, shot by everybody at the table.
Everybody photographs the candles. Nobody ever sees each other’s. For about four seconds a year, every person in the room is pointing a camera at the same thing from a different place. Crowdroll is what collects that instead of losing it across thirty phones.
The candles from six feet away, not the one posed shot.
Somebody films the singing every year and nobody ever watches it. The photos people actually want back are the ones taken from across the room by whoever happened to be looking, which is everyone, at once, for about four seconds.

How it works
Make it, send the code
Thirty people, one code in the group chat or propped on the table. There is nothing for them to sign up to and nothing for you to collect afterwards.
Fifteen shots each
A short night and a small number. Fifteen makes people hold something back for the candles instead of spending the roll in the first hour.
It opens before anyone leaves
Set it to develop the moment the party ends and the reveal becomes the last thing that happens, with everybody still in the room to see it.
Set it to open the same night
A wedding roll usually wants to wait until morning. A birthday often does not. You can set the roll to develop the moment the party ends, which turns the reveal into the last thing that happens: a room full of people opening the same album at the same time and finding out what everyone else saw. It is a different kind of ending to a night than everybody leaving and checking their phones in a taxi.
Fewer shots each is usually better
Twenty-five is the classic because that is what a real disposable holds, but a birthday is shorter than a wedding and a smaller number works harder. Ten or fifteen makes people think for a second before spending one, and thinking for a second is what separates a photograph from a burst of forty near-identical frames. Whatever you pick applies to every guest equally.
What it costs
Usually between ten and fifty people. Crowdroll is free for events of up to five guests, and you are not counted as one of them. Above that you pay once for the event rather than by subscription — every size, add-on and pack is set out on the pricing page, with a builder that adds your own night up. There is nothing to cancel afterwards.
If you want more than the roll
The party pack
€44.99
A birthday runs out of shots long before it runs out of night. This is the bundle that takes the counter off the top of the screen, gives everyone video messages instead of a card nobody wrote in, and plays the whole thing back as a film the next morning.
- Slideshow of the night
- Unlimited shots
- 6 video messages each
€14.98 less than buying those parts separately
Added when you create the event, and it applies to that event only.
Questions about birthdays
- Is it free for a small party?
- Up to five people, yes, completely, with no card and no trial. Above that the host pays once for the event. It is never a subscription, and guests never pay anything at any size.
- Can the birthday person see the photos as they come in?
- No, and that is deliberate. Nobody sees anything until the roll develops, including the host and including their own shots. A roll that the host can peek at is just a shared album with extra steps.
- What if someone runs out of shots early?
- Then they are done, the same way a real disposable works. You can set a higher number when you create the event if you think the night needs it, and there are add-ons that raise the count for everybody.
